I was on the Tim Horton's website today, looking up info about the company and I found a timeline of "Memorable Moments". Below, for your reading pleasure, are the first four items on the list. I think they should have found another item to put between the last two.

1964 - First Store opens in Hamilton, Ontario
1967 - Tim Horton and Ron Joyce become full partners
1974 - Tim Horton is killed in a tragic accident
1976 - Introduction of Timbits®

Poll #1186318 The Raking of Sticks!
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 9

A friend of mine told me that he was raking sticks this afternoon. I used this as an opportunity to mock him. (He is from Kansas) Anyway, just out of curiosity: Have you ever raked up sticks?

As seen in Mental Floss Magazine, I ask you "What is the nerdiest thing you have ever done?"

I have to think about mine, but I thought I'd put this out there in the meantime.

I decided to live on the edge for breakfast this morning. I was craving pasta. So I had a microwave lasagna (President's Choice, very tasty) and garlic toast.

That's right, for BREAKFAST! I broke all of [info]okoshun's rules.

PIGGIES!

Also, on my way home, there was a kids' petting zoo at the mall where I transferred buses, and they had baby potbellied pigs. Curly, Moe and Larry. They were so cute!! I wanted to take them home with me. I have to remember to go check out Bronte Park soon, I bet they're going to have baby pigs! I missed them last year. They were more like teen pigs by the time I got there.

Honestly, most of the time I'm not big into the haiku. But this made me giggle. Props to [info]firecat.

I was all sick and feeling sorry for myself yesterday, so I didn't get my Valentine's Day messages out like I wanted.

Just hope everyone had a great day, and I just wanted to let everyone on my friends list know that even though I might not comment sometimes or maybe we lose touch a bit, I think you're all fantastic people and I'm sending out hugs to everyone. (Even [info]pres589)

HUGS TO YOU ALL! :)

Worst workout video ever!

I tried Crunch's Cardio Go-Go Dance today. I love dance workouts, and I have a few of the other Crunch DVDs and I really love them. I wasn't sure what Go-Go meant, but it was uber-cheap so I thought I'd check it out.

Go-Go turns out to mean that all the people leading the workout are in what are supposed to be sexy clothes in a retro 80s style (who doesn't love a mini skirt and leg warmers??) and the first section has sort of burlesque/strippery music with moves that are supposed to be sexy, but they're more goofy. Also the instructor is uber perky, named Gypsy and has a squeeeeeeaky voice. Then it becomes perky hoppy aerobics. It made me want to throw things at the TV and my favourite Crunch instructors are fairly perky.

I dunno, I think whoever came up with this was smoking something.

Also....

Anyone want a Crunch Go-Go Dance DVD? :) It's free!!

I just inadvertantly gave away part of a book to someone currently reading the book.

I HATE that. I want to poke myself in the eye. I can't remember, it might not even be important to the book, really, but man.

I'm going to go sit in the timeout chair and think about what I've done.

I hate my brain.

Movie day!

  • Dec. 24th, 2007 at 9:33 AM
sleeepy
So yesterday as I was lying around feeling yucky and sorry for myself, I watched a whole bunch of movies on TV. Some holiday ones, some not so much. They included:

Christmas in Conneticut (old movie, 40s - I think, cute but overly long with one of those plots where people lie about stuff and then wacky hijinks ensue from trying to keep up the lies)
Muppet Christmas Carol
Miracle on 34th Street
Demolition Man
US Marshalls
Miss Congeniality

The only movie I stayed awake for the duration of was Christmas in Conneticut - it's also the only one I hadn't seen before. Demolition Man I've seen wayyy too many times to count. How can you go wrong with a movie that has surprise Dennis Leary? (Ok, you probably can, but still!)

Today I'm feeling better although still tired, so I think it's going to be another movie day. Fuzzy pajamas and fireplace included!
